This spring have been working hard to make our pond a better place for families to fish. A few weeks ago we added an aeration system which will add oxygen to the water and help enhance the overall pond health. We have also added a feeder to our property enabling us to grow bigger fish which are always more fun to catch.
Today we added a lot more fish - 100 big bluegill and dozens of largemouth bass - all of catchable size.
We hope that you and your family will come out and enjoy these new additions to our pond and enjoy time in God's great outdoors together. It is open every day during daylight hours.
This summer we will be offering a number of "Fish On" camps for students in grades 1-6. We will teach them the basics of fishing, like how to put a worm on a hook, knot tying, casting, and more. There will also be a day where we get to clean, cook and eat some fish! Educational and fun! And there will be daily fishing challenges where fishermen can earn prizes for their skills as well! Space is limited so register soon.
Mark your calendars for July 1 (8 AM - 10 AM) when we will be hosting a Passport to Fishing program which is a free beginner angler program. This program is led by trained volunteer instructors who provide skills, techniques, and information that allow any novice angler to start fishing. The program consists of educational stations focusing on hands-on participation. This program is for beginner anglers ages 4-10 years old. No equipment necessary.
Also on July 1, following the Passport to Fishing Program, we will be having a Team Fishing Derby (1 adult and 1 child) from 10 AM - Noon. Prizes will be awarded for the first fish, the biggest fish, and the most fish. Hope you can join us!
