We had a successful second week at OTO. This week, we had two camps in the morning; Fish On! and Basic Marksmanship and one camp in the afternoon; Worse Case Scenario. It was a week full of fun!
In Fish On! this week, the fishermen and fisherwomen learned how to cast and bait their fishing poles, how to tie a few fishing knots, and most importantly, got to catch fish! We had a variety of activities this week to challenge their fishing skills, the prizes were fish gummy snacks and sour gummy worms. This summer we brought back cleaning and cooking fish on the last day and all of the campers got to eat the fish we fried up. They got to try bass (caught from camp that day from our pond) and tilapia. This camp was led by Stephen and Alex with Kenzie and Alaina volunteering with them.
In Basic Marksmanship this week, shooters learned all of the safety rules and basic marksmanship skills they need to progress onto the next level: guns that go boom! Campers got to shoot in our new indoor range on the first day due to the weather, and spent the rest of the week shooting at our outdoor range. They played lots of games this week that helped with their aiming and sharp shooter abilities. On the last day, campers got to shoot at the Kaboom! The leaders placed a two liter bottle on the top of an air compressor and when the two liter is shot it goes... KABOOM! Safe to say that this camp was a blast this week! Camp was led by Clayton and Kasey with Isaac and Derek volunteering with them.
In Worse Case Scenario this week campers got lost in the woods, got transported to the Wild West where bandits were on the loose, lost their arms, sight and the ability to talk and finally, got to do an escape room! This week was full of scenarios that challenged camper's abilities and imagination. They learned new skills while having lots of fun! We love this camp because scenarios change from camp to camp. This camp was led by Delaney, Joey and Katrina with Mikayla and Emily volunteering.
We have two camps this week, Expedition Outdoors in the morning and Camp .22 in the afternoon. Both camps still have spots available and we encourage campers to invite their friends, the more the merrier! Here is the link to registration:
We hope to see you soon! Thank you for reading and for your continued support in our ministry.
