"Howdy ho On Target folk!" - Clayton Frame
As we prepare ourselves for next week, we can't help but think that summer camps are only FOUR DAYS AWAY! This will be an exciting week as this is the kick-start for many weeks of fun times and making new friends. Next week will feature two camps; Introduction to Archery in the morning and Search for Bigfoot in the afternoon.
In the Introduction to Archery camp, the kids will learn a safe and fun way to shoot archery while also facing a few more difficult shots later in the week. At the end of the week, the kids will be skilled in the sport of shooting archery, which will make them eligible to join a more challenging archery camp (Intermediate Archery), where they will shoot at further distances and be able to make their own bow, decorated with colorful choices of duct-tape of course. The bows that the kids make will be able to be taken home at the end of the week. There are still spots available if interested!
In the Search for Bigfoot camp the kids will have an opportunity to "Hunt" for Bigfoot after a few days of training for the hunt, of course. Training will consist of different versions of hide and seek, learning about how to camouflage yourself in the wild, and how to track Bigfoot. After our team of campers is trained and ready to face Bigfoot himself, they will put their skills to the test. Each camper will get the chance to retrieve Bigfoot from the wild and shoot some paintballs at him if we are lucky enough to find him!!
In the nine weeks of summer camps that we are providing, we know that there will be many opportunities to make connections with kids, while also making a lot of new friends. Each summer we strive to instill the core beliefs that On Target stands on: Faith, Ethics, and Values. As we look to next week, we are excited for the new friendships, and the opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ with others! As Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."
If you would like to register for these camps or any others, please follow this link to our registration page or you can access if from our home page:
We wish you all a blessed rest of your week, and hope to see you next week for the first week of summer camps!
