Bowhunting 101 is a club for middle school and high school students who want to explore or develop their skills as a bowhunter. Led by a team of avid hunters, this club will include weekly range time at our 3-D targets as well as lessons in tree stand safety, shot placement, hunting strategies, basic bow maintenance, mock blood trails and more. It will also be our goal throughout the fall to get the kids in the field - to either accompany them on their bow hunt, or for those who are not quite yet ready, for them to accompany one of us.
Students participating in this camp must have their own bow (not a crossbow - we are not equipped yet to shoot crossbows in our range) and the bows must have the capability of reaching hunting draw weights of 40+ pounds. If the student is not shooting this weight yet, they may still participate, but will not be able to hunt. 6 arrows fit for their bow will also be required.
The location of this club will be at the On Target Outfitters Clubhouse at 7209 W. Calla Rd, Canfield and the we will meet on Monday nights starting November 4 from 6 - 8 PM. It will continue through December 16.
