The Mentored Youth Hunting & Conservation Club is a multi-year program that starts with the student completing their Hunter Education Course, guiding them on their first hunts and eventually helping them to grow into mature and independent hunters. Our goal is not just to help them be successful in the field but also in life by instilling in them a respect of landowners, other hunters and the game they pursue, a solid understanding of ethics and values, thankfulness to the Creator for allowing us to enjoy creation, an understanding of the role of the hunter-conservationist, and the ability to represent well and advocate for the sport we love.
Who: Through the program we want to initiate students into the sport of hunting who have never hunted previously and / or for those students who do not have someone in their families to teach them.
Where: Our approach to the club will revolve around 4 locations - the classroom, the range, the field and the kitchen.
When: Here is our tentative schedule -
September - Hunter Education Course
October - Range Experience and Squirrel Hunt
November - Deer Hunt
December - Pheasant Hunt
January - Predator Hunt
February - Cooking Wild Game
March - Conservation Projects
April - Turkey Hunt
May/June - Landowner Appreciation Projects
