At On Target Outfitters we believe in the power of mentors - the difference one person can make in the life of another.
All of us can benefit from learning from someone further down the path of life,
and all of us can be a blessing to someone coming behind us. The greatest thing we can leave to the next generation is a legacy of faith.
We believe that the home is the primary place where mentoring and discipleship should happen so we are committed to strengthening families by providing quality experiences for them to do together and messages that will draw them closer to one another and also closer to God.
We also believe that every child can benefit from mentors outside of their home,
especially for those who do not have a healthy family life. Camp counselors, volunteers, coaches, and instructors can all do more than just pass on skills. They can change a young person’s life by being a friend and a role model. They can speak truth into the young person’s life and help them become all God created them to be.
We believe there is something sacred about creation, and the benefits of being in nature are great for everyone. It is a place to clear one’s mind, refresh the soul and spend time with the One who created it all.
We believe that God has entrusted to us all of His creation,
and part of being good stewards of it includes educating participants about it, teaching them skills to enjoy it, and instilling in them a desire to protect it.
We believe passing on the heritage of hunting, fishing, and shooting sports is a worthy pursuit, helping youth develop self-confidence, personal discipline, responsibility, and sportsmanship. These are sports that can instill ethics and values at a higher level than many other activities.
We believe that serving as a mentor is a key element for people to continue to grow personally and spiritually as they take what they have learned in life, both positive and negative, and help those they are mentoring to stay On Target.
