The mentored hunting club is a program that will meet at least 2 times per month all year. Goals are to:
• To help students learn the skills to be successful in the field.
• To help students understand their role as a hunter-conservationist.
• To help students develop a respect for landowners, other hunters and the game they pursue.
• To instill in students an understanding of ethics and values.
• To instill in students a sense of gratitude to the Creator for the creation they get to enjoy.
• To develop in students the attitude and ability to represent and advocate for the sport of
hunting.
This will include classroom, range in field and in kitchen activities. The club will experience different types of hunting as well as preparation for the hunts, including scouting, setting stands, trail cameras and gear readiness. First year students will have opportunities to hunt various small game. Many students will have the opportunity to hunt whitetail deer and predators as well.
